Magnificent Moments
As a school, our class took part in 'Whitecotes Gives'. Families were invited to anonymously contribute up to £2 per pupil. Children then had to calculate the total raised as a class. Following this, we looked at Chesterfield Food Bank's website and created a shopping list. Making things even more momentous, our local Co-Op were so welcoming and generous of our initiative that, during the visit to the shop, they donated EXTRA items which we may not have otherwise been able to afford! Pupils loved working out whether the receipts were correct once back in school.
As a class, we celebrated for three weeks in a row when we achieved 100% each week! Pupils loved their extra playtimes with Mrs Campbell.
In Science, we explored forces and friction. Using our school playground, pupils explored with how gravity and friction are in action during our playing. We then tested out different materials for the friction generated.
Congratulations to Evie who read 100 times and moved up a level in dance. Oliver thoroughly enjoyed sharing his photos of when he visited Curbar Edge. Finlay went swimming at Queen's Park and went int he big pool. Tharun has been training hard both in and out of school on his multiplication tables. Maddox has moved up to Cubs. Abigail has moved up to stage 5 in swimming.
Phew! We then finished the term strong with most of our children achieving the 'Good Behaviour Award' for remaining 'Good to be Green' or better, all term - well done!
